2007 - A Year of Possibilities for your Team

Do you have deadbeats working for you?  Are you tired of hiring the wrong people and having to pay for it in the end?  Did you know that the mentality of most people is to take the path of least resistance while expecting to accomplish the same goals as top preformers.  Do you also know that most of these "path-takers" get excited about improving in their fields, but don't have the tools to take them where they (and you) want to go?  Why is this?  Well, most likely, many mortgage managers out there are just like thier employees, only they have a bigger office, bigger desk, and bigger income.  Managers can also be found guilty of taking the path of least resistance in hopes of hitting it big.

When you see your team floundering, take a look at yourself.  If they are lacking the valuable tools and training resources they need to succeed, you probably are as well.  To be successful, it is imparitive to equip your originators with these training tools and coaching resources.  I had a manager once who started originating mortgages in the early 80's.  He was basically given a book of underwriting guidelines and set out on the street to fend for himself.  When he hired me 20 years later, I was completely green.  He thought that I should have to learn the same way despite the numerous resources around me.  In all actuality, if I had had the tools and resources that were out there for this specific purpose (like the ones found on MyMortgageCommunity), I could have learned what he learned in a fraction of the time.

Here at MyMortgageCommunity.com, we provide the mortgage and sales training as well as coaching you and your originators need to succeed and become top producers.  We rolled out our special "Enterprise Membership" for our manager members recently and it is a great way to get your team involved.  Basically, you receive bulk pricing for originator subscriptions!  You can't afford to do that right now?  You can't not afford to do it right now.  We guarantee you will see changes in your business, help your originators be more successful, and you will be more attractive to potential top-producer leads you wish to bring in because of this incentive package.

Don't Let This Market Prevail

I know this market has many loan officers "down."  It is more challenging. But it also contains many opportunities. This is not about the opportunities. But it is about how a manager is supposed to help their loan officers focus not on the issues, but the opportunities. It is hard for them to stay "up" when the market is more challenging. My question is--what are you doing every day to help this situation? Are you holding sales meetings? If you are--are they forums for complaining or tools to help them gain more skills, ideas and lift their spirits. Are you giving them training or access to training? You can't stand still in this market. Are you are a "dead man/woman" walking around the office--or are you lifting people up as you come in? Ithink you get the idea. Think about it. And act on it.
